DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMICS

• Department of Economics was started with the inception of the college in 1971 and has completed 39 fruitful years of its existence and proved to be a premier branch of the college offering conventional as well as diversified courses such as restructured courses catering to the educational needs of new millennium.

• An Electronic class room with digital board is available for teaching and learning in the department. The department has a library which is sufficient for the needs of the students as per their syllabus. The departmental faculty members have a computer for their educational purposes. The students can also use this computer for their needs.

• The department has two sanctioned strength of faculty and presently one member are working on regular basis and one is on contract basis respectively. The department also arranges Guest and senior faculty members from other colleges and institutions.

• The department has an organized process of evaluating the knowledge and understanding of the students. The department regularly conducts mid exams and public exams to evaluate the performance of the students. The department even conducts tests for students who attend remedial teaching classes. 

• The department offers student support services for their career guidance and counseling. The department also maintains students mailing register with all the details of the students.The students can contact the staff members at any time if they have any grievances.

• The department introduced and conducted Covid-19 Awareness programme and Masks distribution, word puzzles, news paper clippings as a material forteaching. Surveys on social issues and field visits are being conducted by the students to give them firsthand knowledge.
